Photograph album of Jessie Laing (later Mrs. T.A. Leach) covering her journey by sea and through Egypt to the Sudan, as well as Khartoum, Omdurman, El Obeid, Port Sudan, Jiddah and Port Said. Miss Laing's father had a business in Khartoum and El Obeid and both he and his wife feature in the photographs:

Album of photographs, chiefly of sites of antiquities in Egypt, all of them unidentified, but including the pyramids and the sphinxes. There are also street scenes, possibly in Cairo and numerous views of the Nile including the Aswan dam (completed 1902 - SAD.773/1/129-136) and Philae (SAD.773/1/142-144). Photographs SAD.773/1/1-14 and SAD.773/1/145-153 were obviously taken in Europe. Enclosed in the album are a number of loose photographs, again chiefly of sites in Egypt but including also 4 large group photographs of workers employed by James Laing and Son Co., El Obeid (SAD.773/1/172-175)
