Sword of `Ali Dinar (103 cm). Gold hilt with multi-coloured tassel and carved metal blade. Engraved leather scabbard with body strap. The blade is probably of Solingen manufacture while the hilt is probably of local Darfur manufacture. The blade is decorated with various inscriptions (some gilded), magic squares (wafq) and apotropaic formulae, one of which includes the Sultan's name and the date 1321 [1903/04]. One inscription reads “This is the sword whose name is k.b.h.” (meaning not known). The Sultan's name and tughra are repeated on the hilt and quillion, with the date 1331 [1913] on the pommel. The name of Abd Al-Rashid is stamped on the scabbard chape
