Manuscript history
Provenance

The dates at which the three parts were joined together are unclear. The earliest certain evidence for the current state is the early modern foliation that runs throughout the volume as presently constituted. (A) and (B) were clearly together by 1395 as the entry in the 1395 Cloister Catalogue clearly refers to both. Informal jottings on Part C indicate that it had been scrapped by 15th/16th century; however, the extreme weathering on f.105v (the final page of (B) - including staining which is not echoed on f.106r (the first of (C)) - suggests that (C) was not joined to (B) for several centuries.

Digitised material for Durham Cathedral Library MS. B.III.15 - Isidore and Gregory
Digitised July 2017 as part of the Durham Priory Library Recreated project. There is an f.1r and an f.1r with a cross (f.1r x). The f.1r appears to be a paper flyleaf which has some annotations on the verso and has been foliated ‘1’ in pencil. The f.1r x is the first folio of the manuscript and has been foliated ‘1’ in ink and has had a cross added in pencil. Folio 1 contains a watermark. Additional shots of the recto and verso have been taken using a light sheet, these have been included at end of book. Pages with marginalia not visible in the image because they are too far into the gutter: Recto: 11, 17, 22, 24, 26, 33, 34, 106-111. Verso: 6, 23, 34, 106-111.
